Halloween Special - Spiderweb in Photoshop!

by BarryHilton, Adult NetSurprise

In this tutorial we'll be make a simple spiderweb in Photoshop just for Halloween!

We'll start off with by making a new image...Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Now, we want a black background for our white spiderweb, click the 'Reset Color' icon and fill your background with black... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

We're going to use the line tool to make our Spiderweb, first, we need to set it up for our web... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. You can set the Weight to any value, 1 pixel produces very fine web, 2 pixels is suitable for most graphics... we're using 4 pixels for a thicker Spiderweb so it's easier to work with in the tutorial.

Start by drawing a line from the center of your image, extending BEYOND the top left corner... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. If you don't extend beyond your image with the line your web will hang in the air instead of looking like it's attached to something solid! The line tool automatically adds a new layer from your background.

Place your second line starting in as close as possible position to the start of your original line... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Continue placing lines around your image... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. Don't space the lines too evenly as the web will look unrealistic.

Now we'll start with our outermost line... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. Click in the center of the first 'spoke' and drag out your line to the center of the next 'spoke'. Don't make exactly vertical or horizontal lines as again the web will look strange! By adding a new layer first, the circle will be drawn on a second layer rather than adding to our first 'web spoke' layer.

Start your second line in the same place as your first line finished... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Then, work around your image until you complete the web circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. When you're adding lines, drag your line into position, release the mouse button, then click again (without moving your mouse) to start your next line at the exact end of your first.

In the same way we'll start off our second circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Then work around until you complete the circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Start off your third circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Then complete the third circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions. Make sure to leave space for a final fourth inner circle.

Start off our last circle... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Then complete our basic web... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Now we're going to make our web all one layer, but first we need to 'link' the web layers together... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Then merge the linked web layers together... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

Finally, it's always good practice to label all your layers... Click here to view screenshot with instructions.

To see our final web graphic... Click here.

Happy Halloween!
