Got A Game
Plan?
Rowdy, Adult
NetSurprise
Have you asked yourself "the question" yet? Do you
have a game plan for your business ventures or are you playing that old hit and
miss game? It doesn't matter if your main income is from mainstream sites or
adult sites, having a business plan is the key to success! Where do you start?
Good question and of course the answer will vary from person to person. Below
are just some basics that one might want to consider concerning having that
business plan and the tools that can make it's success be a reality.
What type of site? - There are many different money making opportunities
available on the internet. Deciding which route to go is up to the individual.
Adult Sites are known money makers for those willing to do the work and devote
the time. Although on average it appears that many non-adult sites have a hard
time making money, there are those success stories out there. The key is of
course to find something to profit from that is in demand. As with everything,
research is the key! Three very important words to always remember are
Research, Diversification, and Dedication. Keep those thoughts in mind and the
process of deciding what service you want to provide should be a bit less
complicated.
Hosting - A good host is, of course, your first
step in building your online "empire". We've all heard the horror stories when
someone uses "that host with the great prices". Be it free hosting or paid
hosting, investigation and comparison is a must! The first step in this process
is to decide exactly what you want and/or need.
Contrary to popular
belief, how much is it going to cost is not my recommended place to start when
looking for a host. Reliability and support is the two most important issues in
a host. This applies again to both paid hosting and free hosting! You also need
to consider what your site might need as far as extras such as MySQL, PHP, Perl
and so forth. If the hosting website does not answer your questions, write the
support department. (This will also give you an idea of how their support
response is.) There are many great hosting companies out there such as Web123s.com and cycyberwurx.com but it's always a
buyer beware market. For every good host there are at least 5 bad ones.
Research is the key to being happy with your host. Pricing is the last thing I
look at, as cheaper does not automatically mean better. Remember that old
saying... "You get what you pay for"!
On that note... free hosting
comes to mind. Should you run your main sites on free hosting?? NO! Free
Hosting is great for the novice that want to test their online abilities and so
forth. It also proves very useful for feeder sites as well as possible Search
Engine gateway pages/sites. But, when it comes to your main sites, you want and
need to be in control of them! As with a paid host, the key to being happy with
you free host is research. Read all their rules and test out their response
time with a question or two. Reply times should almost be expected to take a
bit longer than paid hosting and that is acceptable within reason. I personally
would expect a reply from a good free host though within 24 hours. Also keep in
mind the free hosting domain name. Obviously a name such as AdultPlaces.com would be more
desirable than something like Freehostedwebsites.com. It's easier for your
surfers to remember as well and more search engine friendly.
Income - How are you going to make money. A very important question
indeed but one that also can have a different answer each day. The online
market moves at a considerably more aggressive rate than the "brick and mortar"
shops that you find downtown. Be ready at all times to grasp a new idea or
service and shift advertisement as needed. The online industry has the benefit
of being able to change basically their entire site, lay-out and goals
practically instantaneously. In the non-net world, a drastic change would mean
days if not weeks and months of planning. Get comfortable with the idea of
continual change and modification as that is one of the main keys to success
the internet. Diversification in your income is an important issue that need to
be addressed from the start. For example, on adult sites, use a combination of
raw, blind, partner programs and so forth as can be found at CyberErotica, GoldRush and BlindGold. Research the different
programs and what they have to offer. For even more listings, check out the
resources at NetSurprise. Take your
time and find that program that has the services that you want to push to your
surfers. Then test the service on your site and compare the results to other
programs for a performance comparison. Keep in mind, you do need to provide a
good flow of traffic for any test/comparison. Sending 500 hits to a program is
not an accurate measure of performance. Personally, I'd recommend 10k as being
a decent comparison number.
Security - The most important and
unfortunately the most overlooked part of a business plan. As stated before,
the internet moves at an accelerated rate compared to the "real world business
situations" most are familiar with. Success can be achieved quickly and rewards
reaped. Guess what... it can all go bad just as quick. What's "hot" today may
be worthless tomorrow so be prepared! This is where diversification is very
important and should be utilized at it's fullest.
Invest your money
into retirement accounts, different business ventures and other securities that
would benefit you and yours. Retain a lawyer and an accountant that will help
you establish your business financial portfolio. Find out the benefits of being
a small business, self employed or corporation from someone that knows the laws
in your area! Again, the cost involved is nothing compared to the possible
disaster of not being prepared for the unexpected. Health insurance, life
insurance, damage insurance etc... should not be overlooked as well. Find out
your options and choose the most practical choice for you and your business.
Don't be caught in the future saying to youself "I wish I had gotten insurance
before this tragedy had happened". Secure the future for yourself and your
family... do it today if you already haven't!
I realize this article
might have raised a few more questions than it answered but in a way that is
one of the points made. Research should be involved in all operations of your
business. Continual investigation and comparison is worth more than any amount
of advice a person could supply. Being prepared is worth more than any amount
of present money making income that one might have. That income could dry up
overnight but if you are prepared, it won't be that business killing
catastrophe that we all dread. Knowledge is and has always been the power
driving force of success. May all that has taken the time to read my ramblings
be blessed with that knowledge! For help in all your business questions and
just plain old fashioned support, spend some time on the NetSurprise
