User Tips

Your Board Viewing Settings: First you
will need to sign in using the user name and password that you joined Adult
Netsurprise under. User names are Case Sensitive by the way. You can then
select how you would like to view the board. Either in the traditional flat
manner or as a threaded board. What's a thread? Thread's continue responses to
specific post vice each post being separate. The post are contained in a folder
of all the replies and responses to a specific post. You may chose to use
default settings but personally I'd suggest taking the extra few seconds and
select your personal settings. This includes things such as how long to
remember your login info, how many threads you want to view and such as that.
Some symbols may not show up. For instance greater than and less than symbols
that you may use to bracket a ALT or LOL. You can use << or >>, or
maybe even (LOL) as I do.
Click Here To Post: You would use
this function to post a new message vice making a reply to a post. Using the
"Click Here To Post" will start a new thread. (By clicking the RE: link located
at the bottom of a specific post you can make a response to that specific post.
Your post will then be added into that specific post thread and will show up on
both the flat traditional board and in the thread of the threaded board as
well. You also do not have to use a link title using this method as it will be
part of that thread and not a new post. You can reply to multiple posts from
the summary thread view by clicking reply -- if you click more then you'll
expand the thread and be at the view thread for that particular thread.)
Thread Title: When using the "Click Here To Post" you will
need to type in a Thread Title. This is because you are making a new post and
therefore will start a new thread. Whenever possible if you are "responding" to
a particular post you should use the RE: link to post vice using the new "Click
Here To Post". This will keep all the responses to a post in 1 folder vice
having them spread out across the board.
Smiley Info:
Clicking the text link will reveal the available smiley icons that you may use
when you make a post. Don't forget to use the : on both ends of the code.
Helpful Code: Use this code box to share java scripts, html
links, and such. Things that would be copy and paste info. Using this box makes
it easier for the person to copy the code and also keeps the board looking
clean as well. If you wish to use a sponsor identicons and such when you make a
post simply select the icon you wish to use at the bottom of the post box. You
may view the available icon by clicking the view identicons text link. Clicking
on any of the question mark icons will reveal additional information concerning
that specific function.
The Search Function: The new
messageboard allows you to search for keywords, by postername or reverse sorted
through the list. 1. Want to see if anybody has posted a message to you? Just
put your name in the keywords search section and you'll find out quickly.
Another trick which is effective and does not require the new search function
is using your browser's find function. In IE you would use in the menu at the
top: EDIT ---> FIND type in your name or couple characters of your name. For
example, I put in TDavid and I can find if any post on that page has my name in
it. 2. if you would rather read posts from bottom to top (oldest to newest)
instead of top to bottom then click the button that says search and then type
in the starting post number and choose the total number of posts to read at one
time (10, 25, 50, 100, 250). You can search through all posts numbered after
7100. This is a good way to catch up if you've been gone awhile without having
to go through the archives.
Sending a post: If you would
like to send a specific post to someone you simply click the "send post to
someone" text link located under the post and fill in the required fields.
Responding to a post: (see above at posting section)
Pasting a copied text onto the board: Use CTRL + v to paste into the
posting box, instead of your right mouse click and it will work fine.
